ForschungPferd makes scientific evidence intelligible, comparable and open to checking. For the horse, for the human being, and above all: kept separate from one another.
What this platform is for
Anyone who wants to know something about inflammation, magnesium or tendon healing today will find a hundred answers within seconds. What is missing is almost never the information. What is missing is the statement of which species a finding came from, how robust it is and how far it carries.
That is exactly what we supply. Every page names the species studied, the grade of evidence, the limits of the data and, wherever a cross-species comparison is made, an explicit assessment of transferability. Readers in a hurry will find a short answer at the top. Readers who want to go deeper will find the primary sources at the foot of the page, each pointing to the original.
Why the horse is at the centre
The horse is an exceptionally well documented living creature. It is an elite athlete, a patient and a working animal all at once; it is measured, X-rayed, trained and observed over years. Out of that density of data, decades have built a field of expertise that reaches far beyond equestrian sport.
The equine tendon counts among the most usable models for the human Achilles tendon. Equine digestion shows what fermentation in the large intestine achieves. Pain research in the horse has produced behavioural scales that measure what a patient cannot say. That is our starting point: an expertise that has something to say, outside the stable as well.
And even so, the horse remains an expertise here, not a decoration. The platform is scientific first, equine second.

Anyone facing a concrete health problem, in a horse or in themselves, will find background here and good questions for the conversation with a professional. What they will not find here is a diagnosis.
